asylum

Project Status: WIP – Initial development is in progress, but there has not yet been a stable, usable release suitable for the public.

The asylum package provides easy access to asylum and resettlement datasets for the UK, published by the Home Office.

Installation

You can install the development version from GitHub with:

# install.packages("devtools")
devtools::install_github("britishredcrosssociety/asylum")

Example

To calculate the number of applications from Afghanistan awaiting a decision, as of the latest quarter:

library(dplyr)

asylum::awaiting_decision |> 
  filter(Nationality == "Afghanistan" & Date == max(Date)) |>
